Come visit our growing native garden at the Coolidge Corner Library, a collaboration between Brookline Pollinator Pathway and the Brookline Department of Public Works.

Talks by Brookline Department of Public Works staff about concerns about invasive species and why native plants are critical for restoring and sustaining our landscapes and ecosystem.

Time to ask questions of Town staff and Brookline Pollinator Pathway members about adding native plants into private garden spaces in Brookline.
In addition, from 2:30 to 4pm, a sampling of nearby private pollinator gardens will be available for viewing.

This lush backyard pollinator garden includes sunnier areas as well as this cool woodland corner and provides food and shelter for many insects and birds.

These gardens were planted around the front and side of the house about 5 years ago and the container gardens were planted about 4 years ago. Plants have come up and not come up; I’ve learned about what will grow in a container and what won’t, how to prune at the right time, that wildflowers don’t need fertilizer, where to buy and where not to buy, and how careful I need to in figuring out which breeds of different plants are actually native to this area. It looks pretty good this year; come and see!!
